As we continue to dive in and learn more about the Common Core State Standards we found that like most things visuals are most helpful. Our state does provide a wonderful website (engageny.org) for explaining the CCSS. Although the videos on engageny.org are very informational, sometimes we want to see the "talk" in action.
The teachingchannel.org provides just that ... teachers using the CCSS in their classrooms.

Thanks for sharing the website. I will have to take a look at it. I'm on the implementation team for Common Core in our district, and we are looking for "lots" of ideas.

Krista - I think you will find this site useful. We were wondering since you are on an implementation team...has your district created curriculum maps to correlate with CCSS? If so, we would love it if you could e-mail us a sample. I teach 1st grade, Diane teaches 2nd and Kelly 3rd. We are struggling with units of study and just knowing what is are appropriate units for each of our grade levels. We have Math down but are trying to gather more info on ELA. Thanks for your input and your support of our blog!
